Am I the only one who finds it hard to believe that we have come to the end of yet another year? I mean it feels like we just started 2017, yet at the same time there are many events and milestones that I look back on that give me cause to pause and give thanks to God for His presence in my life. Having just finished the Christmas octave and still meditating on the great mystery of the Giver becoming the Gift, I am overwhelmed with great emotion on the many ways God has blessed me and my family.
Not to say that everything in 2017 was rainbows and butterflies, but I know wholeheartedly that God was with me in the joy and the pain of this past year. Whether it was celebrating another blissful year of marriage to my beloved bride Nichole or prayerfully walking and assisting a friend in dire need or perhaps sharing in the joy of the many accomplishments of my children or shedding tears with a friend in mourning. Regardless, at every moment and in every case, it was God’s grace that I leaned on to be what I needed to be in those instances. God is good…all the time.
I also wanted to update those of you who support and follow my ministry. I am grateful for your continued prayers and for your support as I look to do the Lord’s work in His Vineyard. It is no question that 2017 encompassed events and projects that I couldn’t imagine ever being a part of going into this year. From an increase of speaking engagements to my first video series with the Dynamic Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers (aired on Shalom World TV) the Lord has opened many doors for me as I discern His calling in my life.
I was also blessed to either meet, work along side with or partner up with some very holy and saints-in-the-making people like Deacon Harold, Hector Molina, Joe McClane, His Own, Matthew Leonard, and Joel Stepanek to name a few (see pics). Needless to say, 2017 was a wonderful year and I am humbled and grateful for God’s mercy on me.
All that said, 2018 is looking to be another exciting and Spirit filled year! I will be speaking at some wonderful events in the first quarter of the year as well working on some exciting projects: I’ll be speaking at the Young Adult Conference of the year in Northern California on February 10th (visit www.relentless2018.com for more details), I’m blessed to be the keynote speaker for the Memphis Men’s Morning of Spirituality in March (http://www.castyournets.org/mmos/), I’ve been asked to be part of a team of speakers for Paradisus Dei’s That Man Is You! men’s spirituality program, I’mworking on a self published men’s spirituality book (hope to have it ready for sale by end of March), I’m working on the DVD production of my video series with Deacon Harold (Real Men: Designed for Greatness) and I’ll be launching my YouTube video series “True Faith: Real Talk” where I interview and talk faith and life with some well known Catholic speakers, evangelists, authors, radio hosts and clergy of our modern time (subscribe here to stay up to date on all my latest videos).
As we enter into another year of the Lord, I challenge each of us to reflect on how God has blessed our lives thus far and give Him thanks for those many moments and blessings. Moving forward, let us hold one another up in prayer and ask God how we can better know Him, love Him and serve Him in 2018. On this feast day of the Holy Family, let us seek the intercession of St. Joseph, our Blessed Mother Mary and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to be images and witnesses of God’s love in our own families and in the communities whom we serve. From my family to yours, a very Merry Christmas season and Happy New Year to you and yours! May God bless you and keep you in 2018!
